Description:
There are two possible ways to become a pirate.
1. You are a ruthless criminal looking for some booty.
2. You are in a town that is overrun by a few cheery fellas. They notice they are short on men and decide to make you an offer for a world cruise which you can't put down because that would be really really 'impolite'.
Ol' Rum was one of the second type. And although he wasn't quite happy to include such a detour in his curriculum vitae he also didn't feel like swimming back home through the open sea. Being in a bad spot, he had no choice but to put up with his situation. 'Luckily' he happened to be a natural at brawling, looting and drinking.
However after a while he had a hard time putting up with the crimes he had to commit and his hopeless career ladder on that ship didn't really brighten his mood either. They had good health care on the ship though. But even so he still looked for salvation at the bottom of one or the other rum bottle.
Many years passed and then his ship wrecked at the north shore of Shartak. As washed up, scarred and worse for wear as he was at that time, he still had his own head on his shoulder and he was happy to be able to use it again. Eager to start a new life he set out to find a settlement, that isn't overrun by thieves, murderers and other bastards.
He went on a long odyssey in the jungle and nearly lost his sanity, his goodwill and his last bar of soap. It was in this dark hour when he found his first true friend in decades: his trusty parrot "Smarties". This bird never left his side and helped him in his struggle to begin a new life by cursing French people, delivering messages and looking pretty on his shoulder.
His random stumbling ended when he miraculously managed to arrive at the first village he's ever been to on Shartak: Wiksik.
Being wary as to not be mistaken for another pillager, he tried to win over the Wiksiki by sharing with their community and showing interest in their cultire. His good intentions ended in handing out free knifes to minors and asking them why they all wear these fashionable skirts made out of leaves.
As nice and supportive the Wiksikians were, Black Rum still felt like he had to find a place where the people don't make clicking noises while talking. So he got himself a map and set out to the closest city to Wiksik: Derby.
Derby was different to Wiksik, Derby had a bar. Who'd be surprised to hear that Black Rum didn't really do anything from that point on besides sitting in the tavern and occasionaly setting out to gather the riches of the land which happened to be closer in Derby than on any other spot of the island.
They carry 1 monkey claw charm, 1 pocket watch, 1 skull, 1 tricorn hat, 1 silver skull cross and 1 skull staff.
