'Red Legs' Moody

me name is red legs moody. named for my tendancy for spewin' other people's blood. to avoid the noose i accepted the position of a hand on one of the king's ships. that's where i made the aquaintance of kevin hobbens.

we fell under attack and were taken by 'the filthy whore'. all officers and most of the crew that were not dead walked the plank. i told how i served under the infamous 'black powder' perkins on 'the raging queen' a decade before, and lied and sied kevin hobbens had been old 'black powder's' cabin boy, and called 'kevin the good'. the captain of the 'whore', old rum-eye bates, was much impressed by this. and then one 'paul kirk' broke in and sied we was a good omen, for it was known ol' 'black powder' died rich, drinking & wenching until the old age of fifty. so captain bates took us on.

kirk wore red and was masked, and was oft called 'th' red piorate'. it was figured he masked himself because of guilt from some terrible crime, but he, kevin and i got along. kirk aside, the crew were a band of the worst sort of cutthroats. the worst bein' a skalwag callin' himself 'killin' mcgee'. mcgee took the greatest glee in the murderin' of the crew of the king's ship, and was feared by most of the 'whore's' crew.

anyway, ol' 'rum-eye' crashed us on the rocks outside shipwreck, and all hands went down besides me and 'kevin the good'. although, i found a tear of red cloth on a bush that might make me beleive 'paul kirk' himself also escaped. if there is a just g-d in heaven, 'killin' mcgee' is a reastin' in davy jones' locker.
