Ari has long black hair and eyes by the same color. He is lean, and has gotten quite muscular over the years. He has a few scars across his chest and his arms. He wears a pair of teal trousers, and is often either shirtless, or wearing a sleeveless brown vest. Though Ari still carries the machete he was sent out of his village with, he has also acquired a small dagger with a bright blue gem in the hilt, and a mahogany club, adorned with intricate patterns. No mere cannibal's weapon, the club was found by Ari by a tree in the deep jungle, and is one of his most prized possessions. At his hip in a brown leather sheathe is the Shell Blade, given to him by the warrior
Junkhead.
Ari was once an arrogant boy, unwilling to accept the natural course of events like death and suffering. But now that he has travelled far beyond the confines of his Village, he has begun to mature at an alarming rate.
During his travels, he received a message from
Kadal, which caused him to question both his sanity and his purpose in the greater scheme of things. However, during a later encounter with the same man, his faith in his cause was reaffirmed. In addition, due to a an encounter involving a
talented fortune teller in Dalpok, Ari now possesses the sixth sense to recognize spirits.
For a while, he was devoted to protecting Dalpok's famous fortune teller,
Olivia. After she was targeted by Kadal and his followers, Ari scoured the village of Dalpok looking for him. He finally tracked down Kadal at his home and killed him, hopefully bringing an end to his unlawful inquisition.
Some time later, he married Olivia, and moved permanently to Dalpok. Though she has since left this world, his love for her has not wavered. After yet another raid on their home, Dalpok, Ari decided to take matters into his own hands with the creation of the Dalpok Liberation Army.
Not much is known of the period of Ari's life following Olivia's death - the warrior seemed to have dropped off the face of the planet. He was not seen by native or outsider alike for many months. Finally, one day a farmer reported seeing a man arise through the embers of a burnt jungle carrying a sword in one hand and a club in the other. The Guardian of Dalpok has returned to the land of the living.
When Ari awoke, he returned to a world wholly foreign to him. His wife gone, his friends dead, and the threat of hostile outsiders more prevalent than ever, Ari began to change. His view on the world and his homeland changed, too. Before, he believed the outsiders to be mostly good, with a few bad seeds here and there. Now, he sees the truth. With the exception of one or two he has met in his travels worthy of his trust, he now knows that the outsiders are a plague which needs to be stricken from Shartak.
---
Two years ago, Ari Me'nok, the Guardian of Dalpok vanished without a trace. Some say that his guilt over innocent outside blood shed drove him to the brink of insanity, and that he swam away from the island and got lost in the current. Others say that he dug himself a hole to the bottom of the world, and kept digging as the sun shrank smaller and smaller.
Regardless, he has returned.
---
He has a self inflicted scar on his left forearm for each of his justified kills. They help remind him who he is and why he must fight. Nine scars adorn his arm: Two for
Kadal, one for
Edward England, three for
An 800 Pound Gorilla, one for
Cosby The Mad, one for
Remalle and one for
Ixys. Each represents Ari's revenge on an individual who has personally wronged him or his family.
