Attacked in Derby Swamp and left for dead, Alec Holland's consciousness and memories were absorbed by the swamp itself and formed into the twisted semblance of a man known as Swamp Thing. Despite its monstrous appearance, this creature is generally peaceful and acts as a protector of the swamp. The innocent are protected and healed; the evil are punished harshly. This is the will of the Green. The only law.
