Born in England, John lived a safe and happy life. Initially training to be a soldier, John learned of the newly discovered Shartak, and went there in search of adventure.
What he saw saddened and stunned him. This island, only recently discovered, was full of ignorance and hatred, both from natives and outsiders. He swore, in his wanderings, to teach the hateful not through violence, but through education and enlightenment.
In the pursuit of knowledge, he has wandered far. It is his hope of a world where outsiders and natives can live together, without fear or hate for eachother.
