You see an Englishman, twenty-nine years old, with brown parted hair, a stubbly beard and blue-green eyes. He wears a goggled flightcap, a long silk scarf, and a leather pilot's jacket. After spending time around him, you notice a cheerful dispositon streaked with moments of fiery temper, usually followed by a stiff drink. He also has aspiring abilities as a chef, cooking complex meals when upset but usually sticking with a good old-fashioned fry-up. An
M1 Garand sits in his hands. Close at hand, either strapped to his pack or leaning against the wall, are a
Mk. III SMLE and a
Model 1897 Trench Gun. An old
Webley revolver is shoved in a battered leather holster at his hip, a few .455 bullets stuck through loops on its side. He also has a bar towel tied loosely to his belt. The emblem on it reads "Club Palermo".

Born and raised in London, Algador "Algy" Templeton lost his father to an airplane accident at a young age. His mother died of disease when he was twelve, leaving him and his sister orphaned on the streets of London.
When the Second World War broke out, Algy was only sixteen years old. Surviving the Blitz despite a few close calls, he enlisted in 1941, and became a bomber pilot. Over the course of his career, he was mainly involved in anti-submarine missions to stop German U-Boats.
He was assigned to a top secret mission in early 1945, tasked with eliminating a special weapon that the Germans had captured. While on a strafing run, his Halifax was hit, and although the rest of the crew escaped, Algy was trapped in the cockpit. Being unable to bail out, he ditched in the Pacific waters, ploughing nose first into a mysterious island.
Finally managing to escape his crashed plane, he headed over to some huts in the distance, passing a sign saying "Welcome to Derby"...
***
After arriving on the island, he immediately sought friendly faces. Derby had little to offer, and to that end he traveled to York, where he encountered
De La Coiffe of the
Greater Shartak Unification Coalition. Enlisting amongst them, Algy found a role on Shartak well suited to his military training.
As time went on, however, he came to realise that the life of a Shartakian Soldier was considerably more vicious than the role of a pilot in the RAF. Resigning his GSUC commission, Algy returned to Derby, frequenting the
Hanged Misfit Pub. He began some small-time work doing favours around the town, earning some money here and there. A great deal of his gold ended up in the pockets of the bartender at the time,
RoadWorkBob.
During a time when RoadWorkBob was absent, Algy briefly took control of the Hanged Misfit, unofficially named the "Templeton Tavern" during that time by Algy's friend
Upkodins. Upon the return of R.W.Bob, Algy followed his newfound desire to be a bartender, setting up the
Halifax Inn on Midway Island, in honour of his old aircraft. Working alongside Upkodins, they provided drinks and a comfortable environment to the weary travelers to Midway.
Unfortunately, the
WickSick Headhunters, led by
Skull Face, reclaimed their old stamping grounds, forcing Algy to abandon the island and the Halifax Inn. Disheartened by this turn of events, he traveled back to York, discovering when he did that the GSUC had disbanded, not long after he had resigned. He also discovered the newly constructed Redcap Arms, run by an old friend of his,
Crazy Ian.
Bidding farewell to Upkodins, Algy continued to the west, arriving in Durham before long. Shortly after he arrived, Algy was presented with a unique opportunity as bartender of the venerable
Club Palermo. Jumping at the chance, Algy set up shop there immediately, moving to Durham and assisting his new employer,
Giovanni Machetti, and his hired hand,
Sympathetic Phil, with all things bartenderly and some things not. Algy has settled down to his new life in the club, always ready to serve drinks to customers, have a few ales himself, or dispense justice as needed along with his compatriots in Durham.
On occasion Algy will head back out into the wilderness, usually on business from the Palermo. One particular trip took him back to Derby, and to his old haunt, the Hanged Misfit. He returned from the trip carrying a worn out barstool, appropriated from his favourite spot in the bar. He was quick to reassure people that he found a replacement for the Misfit back in Derby.
He carries a set of feather earrings pinned inside his coat. If asked about them he says they were a gift from his friend
Aislinn, who gave them to him as a memento after her near-death experience in Oktoberfest. He claims that one day she'll likely want them back. He also carries a pair of gems; one of them hers, and one a gift from the pirate
Blaktoof, a regular patron and all around nice bloke.
Algy is usually found in the Palermo these days, either teaching the resident wolf-girl-cannibal
Tala how to speak English and act like a human, or performing seemingly endless maintenance on his growing collection of guns. If you need a drink, give him a holler, and he'll be happy to get you something to quench your thirst.
He's also prone to really, really long naps.
