Marco came to the isle seeking adventure, but quickly feel in love with it's beautiful mountains and jungles. After several weeks of protecting the citizens of Derby from attacks by enraged headhunters, he finally realised why the natives were so unfriendly.

Horrified by the devastation wrought upon the island's fragile ecosystem, he decided that something should be done to prevent it's utter ruin. With a rifle and a grudge, he set off into the jungle.

Months of hard struggle later, with nine loggers dead and weeds growing over the entire length York Mountain Highway, victory looked like it might finally be near. Unfortunately, a new burst of construction, coupled with smarter, more evasive roadbuilders, managed to clear the road again.

Undetered, the SPF located the logger's hidden camp and fell on it in the night, Marco personally slaying two of their number before disappearing back into the jungle. The movement continued to grow, taking up camp in the ruins close to the river. With logging on the increase, however, the York Mountain Highway was soon completed. The focus of development moved to the Derby Direct secondary route.

The SPF responded quickly, occupying the area in force and calling for help from their allies, the Native Resistance Front. The Derby road was declared a Controlled Zone, barricades were erected, and the heroic resistance dug in to await the loggers.

Early battles along the road were promising, with the deaths of several prominent road-builders, despite significant damage to the eastern barricades. Repeated assualts by the loggers cleared the road into the jungle, only to have it grow wild again as the Front refused to back down. As the future of the road became less and less certain, attacks from members of the South Shartak Trading Company and the Mercenary's Guild raised suspicions that the CHS was preparing to throw everything it could muster at this conflict.

The death toll in the struggle for the Derby Road was high, and several SPF members fell at the barricades before the Front were driven back. Do not mourn, but organise; we will avenge their deaths with every life that we save!

Following the completion of the Derby Direct, Marco waged a guerilla war against those who would maintain and extend the southern roads. It was a hard and desperate life, but through relentless struggle, the road was eventually abandoned to the jungle, marking the first major victory for the Front.

Flushed with their successes, a public conference in York was arranged with the blessing of the Colonial Police, and Marco spoke to a packed crowd on the need for an island-wide resistance to ecological destruction. The event was well-received, but ended in violence when a CHS terrorist burst into the venue and gunned down Marco and a friendly shaman.

Currently, Marco is working hard on the Rachael Cameron Trail, an eco-friendly route from Derby to York.
