IMPORTANT NOTE: All pirates killed are mutineers and PKers, this can be checked via the Shartak Underworld (http://www.philosoph.us/misc/shartak/underworld/?id=1604)
On closer inspection, you become suspicious of this swaggering, larger-than-life character. Why is the dried blood on those cutlass blades so red? Why does his scury accent slip slightly from time to time? Is that parrot stuffed? Those gold coins wooden? And where the hell does one find an 'A to Z of the Seven Seas' anyway?
Following a walk-on role in the pillaging of Dalpok and a short, unimpressive stint as Shartak's most annoying ghost pirate, he managed to return to life and attempted to gain some credibility by slaying a Giant Squid. He swum round half the island looking for one, before washing up in Durham.
Seeking new direction, he joined forces with the Durham Pistoleers to keep the town safe from murderers and savages, and began trying to organise the first Durham Pirate Hunt event. The dismal response this generated disheartened Patch, and he headed back to the shipwreck to "find himself".
Instead, he fell in with a gang, started drinking heavilly (well, moreso), and raided Dalpok again, fearlessly cutting down the peacable natives and their inexperienced warriors, and gravely wounding Shubar. And then hiding in a nearby cave all night, listening to the scrabbling of rats in the darkness and whimpering softly to himself...
Following a hasty retreat after the raid, Patch took up full-time duties in the JRG, slaying many mutineers with the PDF and making occasional trade runs down to good ol' Durham to visit some old friends and bring back much-needed first aid supplies. When Rozen retired as captain of the PDF, Patch's experience and reputation won him the coverted leadership role, and he has since spent most of his time around the wreck, combatting mutineers and coordinating his troops.
Currently though, he is on the JRG's second raid on York, and has racked up a number of kills, although at a high price to himself. Netherless, he is determined that York will be brought to its knees this time, and the mild humiliation of the Gang's lacklustre involvement in the Third Invasion will be forever erased from the terrified memories of his victims. Or something.
His cutlass has a ruby in the pommel, five distinct notches, and '~PDF~' etched along the blade. The hand gripping it is adorned with an emerald ring and a ruby ring. A gilded flintlock is stuck in his belt, and a two hands dangle from it, one skeletal, one preserved in rum. Around his neck are an eyeball on a string, a small icon of a rum bottle, and a metal hoop bearing several human teeth. A red and blue feather is stuck into his tri-corn hat, which looks suspiciously like it was cut out of card by a small child.
They carry 2 tiger tooth amulets.
