Born an illegitimate daughter of Blue Hummingbird and James Barnes, Natalia Hummingbarne was raised by the Eastern Federation Creche. Noted members of the famous alliance such as Rob Zombie, Cthulhu, Mill Wilkinson, Javier Sortani, Kilshrek, Mark D. Stroyer, Norris R. Laos, and Broderick often visited her and told great stories of their achievements (sometimes embellished with others' achievements from the homeland). She studied Shartak history and the world greatly and graduated valedictorian of a class taught by none other than Provost Janet Grey. In remarkably short time she became a graceful fencer and a skilled markslady, even a minor polymaths. However, Derby could not teach her the ways of her ancestors. Upon receiving news of her mother's death after her father's disappearance, she left the Derby Academy.
